MERLIVO fresh-egg food collection for canaries

A company rooted in bird nutrition

MEVLİ’s first R&D project began in 2015 with the idea of developing feed for canaries and cage birds. Bird nutrition, also the subject of our founder Dr. Ercan Mevliyaoğulları’s undergraduate thesis, shaped the company’s path in research and production.

Subsequent work focused on egg-based bird foods, different protein sources, pilot production and extruded pigeon feeds. Together, these activities established an approach that considers bird feed and egg food in terms of both nutritional composition and physical structure.

Fresh-egg foods for birds

The MERLIVO collection includes fresh-egg foods prepared for canaries and pigeons. We use fresh eggs in their production. Egg-based bird foods also have a distinct place in MEVLİ’s research history.

Our 2017–2019 project investigated modified zein suspension and egg-based foods alongside pilot production infrastructure. It focused on the relationship between developing a mixture and turning it into a producible product. Our product approach continues to consider formulation and processing together.

Extruded feeds for canaries and pigeons

Extrusion is a feed processing method involving moisture, temperature, pressure and mechanical action. The MERLIVO range includes extruded feeds for canaries and pigeons, with a separately identified option developed for red-factor canaries.

Our 2024–2025 R&D work for racing and show pigeons focused on producing extruded feed from fine-screened raw materials. Process development and feed physicochemical characteristics were central to this project. Our Projects page explains how this research developed.

Explore egg foods, feeds and vitamins

The MERLIVO collection has three main groups: fresh-egg foods, extruded feeds and liquid vitamins. Alongside liquid vitamins for canaries and pigeons, the range includes canthaxanthin egg food and liquid colour-support options for red-factor canaries.

Product selection should reflect the bird species, intended use and feeding instructions on the label. The products serve different purposes, so amounts and combined use should follow the relevant product instructions.
